NABCEP PVIP-certified staff working on your project 10+ years of electrical construction experience Serving New York
Sun To Panel — Solar & Energy Solutions

Professional consulting

Design, engineering & independent consulting.

We work for you — not a financing company. Get clear answers on equipment, design, and how solar connects to your electrical service.

NABCEP PVIP-Certified Staff

A NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) certified team member is directly involved in your project — design review, equipment selection, and coordination with engineers and contractors.

Residential Independent Consulting

Review installer bids, pricing, equipment, financing assumptions, warranties and construction quality with an unbiased second opinion.

System Sizing from Your kWh Data

We build your load profile from 12 months of consumption data and size the array, inverter and battery to the power you actually use.

Battery System & Autonomy Analysis

Estimate days of backup from your selected loads and usable battery capacity, with inverter power checks and solar or generator recharge scenarios.

System Design

Array layouts, string and inverter sizing, and equipment specifications tailored to your site and usage.

Engineering Coordination

We coordinate with licensed engineers for structural letters, stamped plans and electrical drawings as required.

Service Panel & Interconnection

Busbar ratings, load calculations, supply-side vs. load-side connections, and service upgrade planning.

Permitting & Utility Support

Guidance through local permit and utility interconnection applications in New York.

Installation Coordination

Labor-only quote requests and connections to qualified, vetted local NY contractors, with owner's-side progress review.

System sizing from your kWh data

Your system size should come from your meter, not a sales pitch.

Every system we specify starts with your consumption data. We build a load profile from a full year of kWh, then size the equipment against that profile and your site — so you are not paying for capacity you will never use, and not left short when a new load shows up.

1

Collect your data

12 months of kWh from utility bills, a utility account export, or your smart meter.

2

Build your load profile

Monthly and seasonal kWh, summer and winter peaks, overnight base load.

3

Add planned loads

EV charging, heat pumps, pool, shop equipment, home additions, backup goals.

4

Size to your site

Layout, orientation and shading, New York production estimates, inverter and battery sizing, service capacity.

5

Give you the numbers

Written production estimate, offset percentage and payback you can compare bids against.

What to send us

  • 12 months of electric bills, or a data export from your utility account
  • Your utility name and rate plan
  • Known future loads: EV, heat pump, pool, shop or barn equipment
  • Photos of your electrical panel and meter, if you have them

What you get back

  • A recommended system size in kW and expected annual production
  • The percentage of your usage that size offsets, and the trade-off if you go smaller
  • Inverter and battery capacity based on your real loads, not a rule of thumb
  • A written estimate you can hand to any contractor for comparison

Days of autonomy

Battery capacity is only half the backup story.

The other half is what you need to power, and for how long. We analyze essential circuits or whole-home loads to recommend battery storage and estimate hours or days of autonomy during an outage.

Define your backup loads

We review daily kWh, appliance run times, critical circuits, equipment starting loads and your target backup duration. Interval meter data, when available, helps reveal when power is needed.

Check energy and power

We assess usable battery kWh after reserve settings and losses, alongside inverter kW and surge capability. Without recharging, estimated autonomy is usable battery energy divided by daily backup energy consumption.

Compare outage scenarios

We model battery-only operation and solar or generator recharge options, accounting for seasonal production, changing loads and battery aging. You receive a capacity recommendation and backup estimates with clear assumptions.

Send your utility usage data, the equipment you want backed up, any existing battery and inverter specifications, and your desired backup duration. Actual runtime depends on loads, weather, battery condition and recharge availability; estimates are not guaranteed.
